Silent Apparatus is a series that looks at ordinary human-made places and objects after their usual roles begin to recede.
Slides, covered cars, tunnels, signals, roofs, and dark water appear in the work. These are familiar structures and places made for human action: to play, to move, to pass through, to guide, or to shelter. Yet when they are placed within blackness, distance, and silence, they begin to drift away from their everyday meanings.
Human figures are almost absent. When a person appears, they do not become the center of a story. Instead, they seem like a small displaced element within the space.
For me, photography is not simply a way to explain reality. By adjusting blackness, distance, arrangement, and light, I try to bring forward the quiet pressure already present around objects and places.
Silent Apparatus follows the moment when familiar structures stand between use and uselessness, presence and absence, recognition and uncertainty. In that quiet transformation, I sense a pull toward the unknowable.
《Silent Apparatus》は、人間のために作られた場所や物が、本来の役割から少し離れ、
別の存在感を帯び始める瞬間を見つめたシリーズです。
作品には、滑り台、覆われた車、トンネル、信号、屋根、暗い水面などが現れます。
これらは、遊ぶ、移動する、通り抜ける、導く、あるいは守るといった人間の行為のために作られたものです。
しかし、黒、距離、沈黙の中に置かれることで、それらは日常的な意味から少しずつ離れていきます。
人間の姿はほとんどありません。もし人物が現れるとしても、その人物は物語の中心にはなりません。
むしろ、空間の中に置かれた小さな異物のように見えます。
私にとって写真は、現実をそのまま説明するためのものではありません。
黒、距離、配置、光を調整することで、物や場所のまわりにすでに存在している静かな圧力を、少しだけ見えるところへ近づけようとしています。
《Silent Apparatus》は、使われるものと使われないもの、存在と不在、認識と不確かさのあいだに立つ構造物を追っています。その静かな変化の中に、私は不可知なものへ向かう引力を感じています。
